The formula behind this calculator
Landed cost = product cost + freight + insurance + duties + other fees (clearance, handling, inland haulage). Divide the total by quantity for a per-unit landed cost — the number to compare against your selling price, not the supplier's unit price.
Example: 500 units at $10 each, $450 freight, $60 insurance, 8% duty on product + freight ($436), and $150 in clearance and handling comes to $6,096 total — about $12.19 per unit. Duty is usually calculated on a CIF customs value; confirm the exact basis and HS code with your broker.
